What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic medicine is a holistic and individualised approach to health care that is safe, gentle and effective. Incorporating knowledge substantiated by thousands of years of experience and incorporating modern scientific research, Naturopathic doctors use natural treatments to support and stimulate the body’s healing abilities.
Prevention is a priority in Naturopathic medicine. When disease is present, the focus of Naturopathic treatment will address the underlying cause of illness while managing symptoms. It is for this reason that Naturopathic and conventional medicines can be used in a complementary way to treat many health concerns.
Naturopathic doctors are extensively trained as primary care physicians and we can treat almost any chronic medical condition. I see a wide variety of patients ranging from those with a common cold to those with more complex health conditions.

Homeopathic Medicine: Homeopathy uses of extremely small doses of natural substances to stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself. Homeopathy is considered one of the safest and most inexpensive forms of medical treatment.
Prevention & Lifestyle Counseling: Lifestyle medicine is the recognition that modifiable lifestyle factors such as unhealthy diet or high stress are major contributors to developing illness. Lifestyle counseling is essential in the practice of Naturopathic medicine and Naturopathic doctors are the most rigorously trained primary healthcare providers providing lifestyle medicine.
Outside of the typical OHIP covered tests there are number of tests that are offered as a part of my Naturopathic practice. These tests can include Food Sensitivity Testing, Digestive Function Testing, Nutritional Profiling, and Heavy Metal Toxicity Tests.
